Suntooth
Longsword/Dagger, Wondrous Item (Requires Attunement)
Description
One of a fabled set of magical blades cast down onto various places by a disgruntled archfae, said to have been so offended by the world’s natural beauty that he lashed out in jealousy to maim the land itself. Impotent attempt though it was, a number of identical enchanted blades have been discovered across Sorulia, falling into the possession of collectors and adventurers alike.
Attack and damage rolls made with this weapon are made with +1 and considered magical.
A crescent-shaped pommel rests at the end of a slender, gently spiraling grip with white golden seams, braced against a stubby, slightly fanning handguard. All these parts leading to what is commonly (if such a word can be used in reference to such a weapon) sheathed in a simple black scabbard no longer than a conventional dagger or hunting knife. The blade, when drawn, takes two forms.
When wielded in the light of day, Suntooth is a long, brilliant tapering bastard blade. When waved or thrust through the air, it seems to cast a glare even when not reflecting the light of the sun directly. Upon a successful attack, Suntooth deals an extra 1d6 fire damage.
When wielded anywhere the light of the sun does not shine, Suntooth shortens into a blade much like a kunai throwing knife. It takes on the Light, Finesse, Thrown, and Returning properties, and upon a successful attack deals an extra 1d6 radiant damage.
“Jealous, you say? Leave it to a fae to have an ego that gets bruised by some hills and grass.”
– Toron Rothcolt, Arbiter General
